Human Resources Manager: Flexible Work Schedule, Part-Time

We are looking for a part-time Human Resource manager to join our team. The work schedule is flexible, approximately 15 hrs/week, and is best suited for a highly qualified HR-professional who is looking to step back from a full-time position to balance family and work.

GAM’s HR professional will be a manager and an implementer of our HR strategy, procedures, and systems.  The ideal candidate will be someone who will excel working in a small (less than 40 people), entrepreneurial company where everyone makes a difference.  We are looking for someone who loves people, is business savvy, is motivated by a challenge and gets excited about rolling up their sleeves to create systems and processes that bring about positive changes in an organization.  The position reports directly to the President and is based at our Mount Prospect, IL headquarters. 


The HR professional will be a generalist, responsible for benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, employment law compliance.

  • Manage all aspects of compensation and benefits including the planning and administration of them.
  • Payroll & PTO
  • Recruiting
  • Conduct and organize employee onboarding and facilitate a positive new employee experience.
  • Manage the employee review process
  • Training & development
  • Support the Safety Committee
  • Development of HR policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Employee relations including coaching and advice to our team members, Middle Mgt., and Sr. Mgt.
  • Oversee the activities that build our GAM Value of “Fun” (Birthday celebrations, Holiday parties, barbecues, etc.)  BTW, we’re always looking for new “Fun” activities too!
  • Compliance
  • Internal communications


  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, or comparable,
  • 5+ year's human resources generalist, or management experience,
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organization planning, organizational development, employee relations, recruitment, and training,
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs,
  • Experience with HRIS systems,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • Excellent customer service skills and mentality,
  • Above average interpersonal, oral and written communication skills,
  • General business acumen; demonstrated analytical and creative thinking ability.
