GAM Enterprises manufactures mechanical products used in Robotics and the Factory Automation Industry. We have an opportunity for an Inside Sales Engineer to support our sales efforts to help land new customers, as well as support our existing customer base and external sales channel. The position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager and is based at our Mount Prospect, IL headquarters.

We are looking for an Inside Sale Engineer who has that same passion, that same spirit and values.


The Inside Sales Engineer will be responsible for inside technical sales and support of all products. This includes:

  • Sizing and applying products to fit customer needs. Utilizing formulas to make appropriate determinations. Interpreting customer drawings.
  • Managing and following up on sales leads with an emphasis on cross-selling other product
  • Quoting and processing orders.
  • Performing product failure analysis and creating technical drawings for customer modifications.
  • Sales and service support to customers and agents by handling in-coming inquiries (mostly via phone and email) to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Serving as the in-house back-up and support to the Regional Sales Manager who is typically out of the office directly meeting with customers and prospects.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Physics.
  • An outgoing, proactive, and friendly sales personality, and a knack for being fast-on-your-feet.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to juggle and manage changing priorities.
  • Interest in and ability to applying technical knowledge in a sales and support environment. The ideal career path for this entry level position is to move into outside technical sales within a 2 to 4 year time period.
  • A problem-solver with a can-do attitude.
  • This position will be the anchor in the office for the sales team, and therefore require minimal travel.  Travel will occur to foster training and development opportunities and will occur less than 10% of the time.
