Customer Service Representative

GAM Enterprises manufactures precision mechanical components used in the Factory Automation Industry.  We take pride on our excellent customer service and for being a company that is good to work with.  Our Customer Service Representative will help us live up to our high standard of service and support our goals.  The ideal candidate will be someone who excels working in our fast-paced company, where the velocity from the time of order, design, manufacture, and ship is very high.  It is also an environment where everyone makes a difference.

The Customer Service Representative will report to the Sales Manager on-site at our Mount Prospect, IL headquarters.


The Customer Service Representative is responsible for day-to-day service and support for GAM’s customers, sales agents, distributors, and internal departments.  This position provides service in a high performance, customer focused environment. This position requires a high level of accuracy and is for someone who is detail orientated. A successful Inside Sales Representative will have a positive attitude, thrive in a team environment, and can handle a high volume of activity.

  • Provide highly responsive service and support to our customers and agents in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Manage and prioritize customer needs and requests; answer questions and solve customer problems promptly and effectively.
  • Administrative duties regarding transactional processes including order entry, price / availability, quotes, and other inquiries.
  • Manage customer issues and problems to ensure inquiries are directed to the appropriate internal areas and issues are resolved in a timely manner and with accurate information.
  • Coordinate with internal groups to exceed service level expectations and provide continuing visibility of commitments to the customer.
  • Resolve matters pertaining to order entry, administration, completion, and shipment with in-house groups.
  • Build strong relationships that promote trust and confidence with the customer, sales rep, distributors, and internal departments

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Associates degree in business or related field with 2-3 years’ experience in a customer facing position, OR entry level with a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or communications.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Past work experience in an administrative customer service support role.
  • Strong written communication skills to write business correspondence, activity, and project reports.
  • Verbal communication skills to articulate clearly and effectively with external customers and company employees.

Compensation & Benefits:
