GAM-Melior
We are pleased to announce that GAM Enterprises, LLC, a leading manufacturer of high-precision gear reducers and other automation solutions, has signed an agreement to acquire certain assets of Schaeffler Ultra Precision Drives (SUPD), including intellectual property, from Schaeffler. The transaction strengthens GAM’s position in precision motion control and expands its ability to serve global automation and robotics customers.
The acquired technology represents a highly differentiated solution for high-precision applications and is a strong fit within GAM’s broader motion control strategy.
The PSC gear reducer has long been a key component for GAM. The PSC is the core gearing technology that goes into our flagship GPL product. Acquiring the IP from this core supplier allows GAM to vertically integrate our supply chain, expanding our capabilities. GAM intends to support customers of the PSC product line and build on this technology platform over time.
GAM has formed a new company, GAM-Melior, to support and produce the PSC product line. This new company will be based in Hameln, Germany.

- Main planetary gearing (enclosed) with exposed Z2 input gear
- Separate Z1 input pinion
- Mounting flange for integration

GPL Standard Gearbox
The GPL standard gearbox includes:
- PSC Core Cartridge Gearbox
- Full enclosed housing with motor mount designed for your specific motor
- Standard, configurable design.
GPL Custom Integration
Custom GPL gearboxes include:
- PSC Core Cartridge
- Fully customized housing, motor mount, and/or output to suit customer’s application
For example, the custom GPL shown was used to replace a direct drive motor
